How does the door sensor detect opening and closing?

The sensor uses a magnetic contact. When the door or window is opened and the magnet moves away from the sensor, an open event is detected.

What is the maximum gap allowed between the sensor and magnet?

For reliable operation, the gap between the sensor and magnet should generally not exceed 10 mm when the door is closed.

What should I do if the sensor shows the wrong status?

Check that the sensor and magnet are properly aligned, the battery is not low, and the installation gap is within the recommended range.

Can I receive notifications when the door or window is opened?

Yes. When connected to the OKOS Smart App, the sensor can send instant notifications whenever the door or window is opened or closed.

Can the Door Sensor trigger automation scenes?

Yes. The sensor can trigger automation scenes, such as turning on lights, activating a siren, or sending notifications when a door or window is opened.

Will the Door Sensor work if the internet connection is lost?

The sensor will continue detecting door and window status locally. However, app notifications and remote monitoring will not be available until the internet connection is restored.

Why am I not receiving door or window notifications?

Check that the sensor is online, connected to Wi-Fi, the battery is not low, and notification permissions are enabled in the OKOS Smart App.

How do I reset the Smart Door Sensor?

Press and hold the Reset button for approximately 5–10 seconds until the indicator enters pairing mode. Then add the sensor again through the OKOS Smart App.
